About Me

Lets talk about the important things in life......like lurchers, terriers and ferrets. They must be workers though. There's no better pastime than hunting with these fine animals. I hunt with mine right through the autumn and winter. In the spring and summer when we dont hunt I take my pleasure with the rod and line; fishing is second best though! If the weather is rough, the wind is blowing and there is no moon I'll be out lamping someplace during the hours of darkness. If it's cold and frosty then it's time to get out with the ferrets in the morning. Lurchers are such versitile dogs; there's always something you can hunt with them. I enjoy a daytime mooch with a lurcher if I am not ferreting or planning to go lamping.A good lurcher will snaffle up any rabbits which choose to lay up above ground in cover. Hares and even squirrels are also on the quarry list. Feathered game too can also be taken. The most common birds I take with my dogs are pheasant and moorhen. They have taken odd duck, pigeon and even partridge over the years.
